Oracle has announced that GloriaFood will close permanently on 30 April 2027. The platform is already no longer accepting new registrations, and its features, widgets and payment solutions will stop working after the closure.
For restaurants, cafés and other food businesses using GloriaFood for online ordering, it is important to plan the transition well in advance. Customer data and menus will be deleted when the service closes, so it is a good idea to explore alternatives before the current solution stops.
What does the closure mean for your restaurant?
For many restaurants, GloriaFood has been part of daily operations. Customers have been able to order takeaway through the restaurant’s online solution, while the restaurant has had a digital channel for receiving orders.
After 30 April 2027, this channel will no longer be available. This applies to:
- Online ordering features
- Widgets on the restaurant’s website
- Payment solutions
- Menus and customer data in GloriaFood
It is therefore relevant to identify which parts of your current setup depend on GloriaFood. You should also consider how your menu, ordering flow and customer information will be managed in the future.
An alternative for online takeaway
Lenius offers a takeaway system for restaurants that can serve as an alternative when GloriaFood closes. A Lenius solution lets you gather your takeaway orders in a system developed around the restaurant’s everyday operation.
Moving to a new solution requires preparation. We therefore recommend starting by describing your current needs and workflows. Consider how customers order, how employees receive orders and how the menu should be maintained.
Move forward in good time
Although GloriaFood will not close until 30 April 2027, it is better not to wait until the last moment. Clarifying your needs early gives you more opportunity to choose the right solution and communicate the change clearly to your customers.
